Met Eireann is today warning of the possibility of above average temperatures for October, particularly during the first half of the month.
Some models even show the possibility of a ‘heat plume’ event, with temperatures potentially hitting 30C.
The national forecaster has remarked that the forecast remains uncertain at this point.
