Met Eireann is this evening warning of the possibility of power cuts overnight due to strong winds.
A nationwide weather warning is due to kick in at 5am, and remain in place until 2am on Friday.
According to the national forecaster, strong westerly winds will develop overnight and move eastwards as the day goes on.
People are being warned to stay away from coastal areas and bodies of water as a precaution.
