Met Eireann has forecast torrential rain and thunderstorms for some parts of the country today.
A weather warning remains in place for 20 counties, as widespread, heavy rain is expected later in the evening, possibly leading to localized flooding.
The warning, affecting Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, and Waterford, will expire at 3am on Friday.
