The national forecaster has warned that Ireland is ‘more likely to experience the tail end and remnants of hurricanes and tropical storms’ during 2020 than in previous years.
The reason given is a very active hurricane season this year, and the significant warming of the Atlantic Ocean.
Worldwide, forecasters are predicting increasingly severe weather events due to global warming.
