Mexican police discover 23 abducted children being kept prisoner is tourist town

Mexican police have found 23 child prisoners in a southern tourist town.
Originally searching for a missing two year old boy, the officers uncovered a house where children aged between infancy and mid teens were being kept against their will.

It is understood that they were being used to sell home-made crafts to tourists in the popular backpacker town of San Cristobal de Las Casas. Three women have been arrested and charged with human trafficking.

Mexico has long been infamous as having some of the worst rates of child trafficking in the world.
