The President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins has announced that his dog Síoda has died.
Higgins is well known to be photographed to his two dogs and has often randomly met people in the Phoenix Park when he was out walking with them.
In a newsletter, the President said that Síoda had died following an illness. Many social media users have been posting their condolences over the dog’s passing.
