The recently appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that coronavirus restrictions are likely to remain until the end of 2021, or possibly beyond.
The Taoiseach also added that the next review of the situation will happen on Sept. 13.
Speaking about pubs, Mr. Martin said that he ‘understands’ the disappointment of having their establishments closed, but even when pubs reopen, social distancing and other measures will still need to be observed.
