Software giant Microsoft has confirmed that support for its Windows 7 operating system ends today, meaning that PCs running it will no longer receive updates.
This effectively means that while Windows 7 machines will still work, they will no longer be up to date in terms of software patches, potentially exposing the computer to new bugs or viruses from now on.
About one in five PCs across Ireland run Windows 7.
