Independent TD Finian McGrath has confirmed that he will not stand in the upcoming General Election.
In an announcement the Minister for State said that he will not contest the next election following serious consideration with his family.
McGrath however did state that he will not be retiring saying: “I’m far from retiring and will remain involved in political activism, supporting disability issues.”
McGrath’s decision comes after it was announced that the next General Election will be held on Saturday February 8th.
