Iraqi asylum seeker Ali Bashar (22) who raped and murdered Susannah Feldman a 14-year-old German girl in 2018 has been sentenced to life in prison.
Bashar pleaded guilty and claimed he “didn’t know what happened” but was informed by sentencing Judges in the city of Wiesbaden that he acted in “cold blood” and it was unlikely that he would be eligible for parole after 15 years, which is common in Germany, even in cases of murder.
Feldman’s mother accused German police of refusing act for five days after she reported her daughter missing. In that time Bashar fled to Iraq and German police were forced to travel to the country to retrieve him.
Bashar is also in the midst of a second trial charged with the rape of an 11-year-old German girl.
Violent crime, particularly against women and children, and anti-social behaviour have skyrocketed in Germany since Chancellor Merkel’s decision to allow millions of unvetted migrants from the Middle East and Africa to enter the country and take up residence.
