Migrant Jozef Puska now claims both Ashling Murphy and himself were attacked by a random man

Jozef Puska, the man accused of the murder of Ashling Murphy, has pleaded not guilty and is currently giving evidence in his defence. Puska, a 33-year-old from Mucklagh, Co Offaly, has claimed that he and Ms. Murphy were attacked by an unknown man beside the Grand Canal in Tullamore, reports RTE.

According to Puska, he was cycling past Digby Bridge when he was attacked by a man he had never seen before. The man allegedly pushed him, kicked his bike, and stabbed him in the stomach twice.

A woman, presumably Ashling Murphy, appeared during the altercation and was also attacked by the man.

Puska claims that he tried to help Ms Murphy with her injuries, using her scarf to cover them. However, he left the scene due to fear and shock. He also mentioned seeing another woman, Jenna Stack, at the scene before he left.

The trial continues to unfold as Puska presents his defence, asserting that he and Ms. Murphy were victims of an attack by a third party.
