Migrant living in Dublin threatened to share intimate images of his ex-partner, court told

A court has heard that a former boyfriend claimed to have taken “intimate” photos of his ex-partner behind his back and threatened to share them, reports RTE.

The defendant, who first came to Ireland for educational purposes before beginning employment in Dublin, entered a guilty plea to a charge brought against him under the Harassment, Harmful Communications, and Related Offences Act.

The complainant, who is entitled to anonymity under the law, has requested that the male, who is in his 30s, not be identified, reports RTE.

Judge Fiona Brennan of the Dublin District Court imposed a three-month suspended sentence on him.

She pointed out that the threat was “baseless” and that he had admitted to the offense, reports RTE.
