Millions of euro of damage in Cork as businesses, houses and cars get badly flooded yet again

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin said the government will make sure to support businesses affected by the floods in Cork and Bantry.

Close to 100 buildings, houses and cars were badly damaged by flooding in Cork city centre. The damage is estimated at millions of euros.
Significant flooding was also reported in the county following a high tide.

The flood level thankfully began to lower, but a large number of streets in Cork City had up to 3 feet of water. While flood warnings had been issued prior to the flood, the rate at which the water was rising seemed to have taken many by surprise.

The streets that were worst affected are South Mall, Oliver Plunkett Street, Malboro Street, Princes Street and Pembroke Street and extend to Patrick Street.
