The Minister for Education Norma Foley has ruled out an extended mid-term break following the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Speaking to RTE’s Today with Claire Byrne programme, Foley said that it was the Government’s priority to keep schools open and the possibility of an extended mid-term break hasn’t been discussed.
The Minister for Education told the programme that the Government intends to keep schools open during all levels of Covid-19 restrictions.
However she did admit that the opening of schools would be reconsidered under Level 5 restrictions, but any decision to close would be based on public health advice.
