The man who turned down a 13bn gift from the heavens has today said that he’ll stay in his job ‘as long as he’s wanted.’

Minister Noonan, who has suffered ill health as of late, intends to cling on to the post for as long as he can, though he admits that there is a distinct possibility that the current Coalition may be short lived.

He said “I have nothing to say beyond what I’ve said during the week.

“We don’t know when the next election is, so you’re asking me to make a commitment to a target which nobody knows and when that target will be. So we’ll wait and see.

“I took on a job and I’m doing the job and will continue to do it.”
