The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that booster vaccines will be rolled out in the coming weeks ahead.
In an announcement Donnelly confirmed that the vaccine will be given to everyone aged 80 and over, whilst it will also be given to residents in care homes aged 65 and over.
It is understood that the booster programme comes following recommendations from NIAC.
Donnelly also confirmed that those who are set to recieve a booster vaccine will be given an MRNA vaccine.
