The Minister for Health almost witnessed an armed robbery while out canvassing in the Castleknock area of Dublin this evening.
He was about to enter a Spar shop when two men, armed with a sword and a gun, ran out from the premises after threatening staff and taking a sum of money. The men fled the scene on foot.
Neither the minister nor the members of staff were injured in the incident.
