The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that the first batch of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine will arrive next week.
Speaking to RTE News the Health Minister said that a total of 21,600 doses will arrive next week.
Donnelly also confirmed that a total of 190,000 doses of the vaccine will arrive in February.
He added that the vaccine will be administered straight away with patient-facing frontline healthcare workers expected to receive their doses beginning from next week.
