Dr Holohan says people need to continue social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing even when they are vaccinated

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that those who have already recieved the Covid-19 vaccine should act as if they haven’t been.

Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan said those who have been given the vaccine should continue to wear face masks, wash their hands and to continue social distancing.

He said that until everyone is vaccinated everyone should act as of they haven’t been.

The Chief Medical Officer’s comments come as there is still uncertainty over Covid-19 transmission amongst those who have been vaccinated.
