The Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris has said that he expects both students and staff to return to universities and colleges later this year.
Speaking to RTE, Harris said that he fully expects that students will be vaccinated and will be able to return to college life in the autumn.
Although Harris warned that some elements such as online lectures may have to remain, he said mostly students and staff will be back on campus.
He added that the Government are working on guidelines that will be brought before the Cabinet in the next two weeks.
