Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy draws fierce criticism over his support for ‘co-living’

Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy is currently taking a lot of flak over his ill-advised support for the new ‘co-living’ trend bandied around by Fine Gael.

The minister recently said that young people should feel ‘excited’ about ‘co-living’, which is essentially a dwelling containing a number of small rooms where residents must share most of the living space.

Particularly, Mr. Murphy staunchly defended a proposed development in Dublin where dozens of people would be forced to share one single kitchen space, among other limitations.

The minister’s shortsightedness on the issue of housing, which happens to be his very portfolio, has astounded many, and there are now calls for him to resign due to a perceived total ineptitude on his part to appreciate the reality of the crisis.
