There was some welcoming news this afternoon as the Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton announced that a total of 300 jobs will be created in a series of investments in the south-east.
A significant number of jobs will be created at a Eishtec, which is a call centre that already employees just over 1,300 people at its other centres in Waterford, Wexford and Craigavon. It is understood the telecoms company will look to employ 200 new staff at their new operations centre in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
Meanwhile Bluefin Payment Systems is to set to create 40 jobs over the next five years at its new technology and operations centre in Waterford city. Whilst information security services provider CipherTechs, will create 36 new jobs at its new base in Kilkenny over the next five years.
The new jobs were greatly welcomed by the Jobs Minister Richard Bruton who said the south-east has experienced the fastest rate of job-creation of any region in the country since 2012.
Mr Bruton told the press: “This is a massive testament to the ingenuity of people and businesses in the region, who have delivered this result in the face of massive historical jobs challenges.”
