The Department of Heritage, Regional, Rural, Arts and Gaeltacht Affairs has recieved a new name change after recent criticism in the Arts community.
The new name will now see Arts being placed at the start of the title after many claimed the downgrading of the Arts in the title was demeaning given the fact the Arts has been a long standing pillar of Irish culture.
The new name change was confirmed by Minister Humphreys who said placing ‘Arts’ at the start of the title reflects the fact that the arts division accounts for the biggest portion of her Department’s budget.
