There has been a mixed reaction to a peaceful protest held by Pro Life activists outside Our Lady Of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda, Co. Louth yesterday morning.

The protesters stood for 3 hours in the freezing cold from 7am until 10am on the Windmill Road entrance to the Hospital.

They told The Liberal that they were there because it was understood that two abortions were to take place in the hospital at 8am and they were hoping to try and change the baby’s mother’s mind as she was going into the hospital.

The Pro Life protesters held signs and sang hymns for 3 hours.

One of the protesters, Charles Byrne told The Liberal:
“This is just the start of a nationwide campaign. We will be outside anywhere that kills innocent human beings under the absurd and illegitimate licence of a majority vote. We will not be deterred by government threats of arrest and imprisonment. They have literally made this an issue to the death, and until death we will fight it with every fibre of our being.

There was a mixed reaction to the protest with some saying these people should not be peacefully protesting while others say it’s their democratic right to peacefully protest.
