Monaghan crash victim’s dad cradled his daughter as she died alongside her friend on way to Debs

The father of one of the teenage girls who died in an accident on the way to Debs held her in his arms as she died, it was revealed last night, reports The Mirror.

Kia McCann, 17, and Dalava Mohammed, 16, were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree.

Best friends lost their lives on Monday evening outside Clones in County Monaghan.

It turned out that Key’s father, Frankie, held her in his arms as her life was passing away.

It is understood that he arrived at the scene shortly after the injury and held her daughter when emergency services arrived at the scene.

The Largy College students were going to a Debs party at a nearby hotel.

When the car drove off the road, they were killed by suspicious wet conditions.

Kia’s parents told how their daughter and her friends gathered at their house for a party.

It didn’t take long for them to enjoy what was to be a milestone in their young lives.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, Frankie said: “There was great excitement in the house before they went out. We had food and Champagne and balloons and it was going to be a great night,” reports The Mirror.

The driver, who is in his 60s, is an acquaintance who offered them a lift. He and another teenager were also left in critical condition in the hospital.

A large crowd of mourners gathered with Dlavy Mohammed’s family outside a property in the city. Her friends that revealed her father was travelling from Germany to be with his loved ones.

According to those present, they marked religious traditions and sought privacy from the media.

Kiea’s sister Shaunice wrote: “I really don’t know what to say. I’m just so heartbroken over you, my little baby sister. I have no words to describe the emotions going through me right now. I really don’t know what to do without you. I am just so lost and don’t understand how something like this could just happen to you. I just hope you know that we all love you so much,” reports The Mirror.
