Lizzo and her production company are sued by three former dancers who accuse them of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment, reports RTE.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, was filed against Truth Hearts singer, real name Melissa Vivienne Jefferson, and her production company Big Grill Big Touring, Inc. (BGBT).

It also featured the alleged behaviour of Lizzo’s dance team captain Charlene Quigley.

The three dancers – Ariana Davis, Crystal Williams and Noel Rodriguez – allege they have been victims of sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Ms Davis and Ms Williams were eventually fired from their positions, while Ms Rodriguez resigned due to “appalling behaviour”, according to West Coast Employment Lawyers who represented the plaintiffs.

Part of the lawsuit describes a trip to Amsterdam’s red light district in February 2023, where artists were forced to go out at night for fear of losing their jobs.

One visit to the Bananenbar club allegedly encouraged performers to touch Lizzo’s naked performers.

“Plaintiffs were aghast with how little regard Lizzo showed for the bodily autonomy of her employees and those around her, especially in the presence of many people whom she employed,” the complaint read, reports RTE.

The Grammy Award-winning American singer is known for championing body positivity and inclusiveness in her music, and her reality show Watch Out for the Big Grylls recruits plus-size performers.

The dancers accused Lizzo of drawing Ms Davies’ attention to her weight gain, then beating her and shooting her “on the spot” after recording the meeting due to her medical condition.

Lizzo “hurled expletives” at her dancers and behaved “aggressively” towards Ms Williams, “”cracking her knuckles (and) balling her fists”, the complaint stated, reports RTE.
