More of it: Proposed Liffey cycle lane will cost the taxpayer €20 million

As if Leo Varadkar and the Simon Harris didn’t appear to have anything other than utter contempt for the Irish people, it now appears as though the taxpayer will have to fork out €20 million to facilitate cyclists in the Capital.

Proposals have been made for two one-way cycle lane tracks along the Liffey in the city centre.

The crossover point would be at woodquay with the €20 million project seeing some 60 car parking spaces lost and some 33 beautiful trees cut down.

There’d be a pedestrian walkway near bachelors walk. It’s no surprise that many Dublin City Councillors have welcomed the proposal as they’ve been pushing for more cyclists in the city.

The plan will now go for public consultation.
