More than 50% of Ireland’s homeless people were working in 2022, CSO shows

In the Census of 2022, 59% of those who identified as homeless had jobs, reports Breaking News.

Released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) are statistics collected more than two years ago.

According to the data, 48% of women and 68% of males who were homeless were employed, reports Breaking News.

Additionally, it reveals that 4% of individuals who indicated they were homeless had a degree from a third institution, while 11% claimed to have finished secondary school with at least a Junior Cert.

Two percent of those who were homeless also claimed to be students.

Approximately 80% of people who reported being homeless in the Census also reported having good or very good health, reports Breaking News.
