More travel disruption today as Ryanair are forced to cancel a number of flights due to French air traffic control strike




Thousands of passengers planning on traveling abroad today will see their plans disrupted yet again after Ryanair confirmed that they will cancel a number of flights due to the ongoing strike action at air traffic control.

The low cost airline has said they have no option but to cancel the flights as French air space remains in lock down due to the strike, the company are also advising passengers to check their website before travelling to the airport.

The cancellations come in the wake of the recent crisis that has gripped Europe which forced the company to cancel 45 flights on Monday.

In a brief statement on its website the company said: “We regret that we have again been forced to cancel a number of flights due to another strike by French ATC unions. We sincerely apologise to all customers whose travel plans are being disrupted by these unjustified strikes, who have been contacted by email and SMS text message and advised of their options.

“The strike may also affect flights overflying France and we expect some flight delays and possible further cancellations.

“Customers scheduled to fly on Tuesday should check the status of their flight on the home page of the Ryanair.com website, where updates will be published – before travelling to the airport and allow extra time for their journey. ”

It is expected that thousands of holidaymakers and commuters will be affected in the come days ahead as over 1,000 flights will be grounded due to the strike which is scheduled to continue until Friday.
