A group of Ukrainian men living in Ireland, who had returned home to fight against the Russian invasion of their country, joined the local defence forces in Lutsk and Kyiv.
RTE reports that the men, who are not yet armed but expect to be called up for combat, said they were part of second and third combat response teams throughout the course of the war.
Other members of the group organise military and medical supplies as the defence groups they have joined are in dire need of supplies.
However, some people are weighing up how things appear to be panning out as Russia appears to have the significant upper hand in the conflict since they took the city of Kherson.
