Moscow claims to be raking in record profits from energy sales as Western citizens face choice between food and heat this winter owing to disastrous anti-Russia sanctions

Sanctions on the Kremlin by the U.S, EU and some other western nations have fallen flat as Russia posted record profits from energy sales while citizens of the EU and U.S face a devastating cost of living crisis.

People in Europe may well have to decide between eating and staying warm this winter as their government’s foolhardy aggression against Moscow backfires on their own citizens.

Meanwhile, Russia’s state run Gazprom posted a record net profit of Rb2.5 trillion ($41.3 billion) in the first half of this year, the company said late Aug. 30, as European gas prices remained at sustained highs throughout the period S&P Global Commodity Insights reported.

This situation around the cost of living and energy price crisis has now gotten so bad that there are genuine concerns about potential civil unrest in some European countries.
