The most expensive hospital ever built anywhere in the world is to be ‘substantially complete’ by late 2024, according to the Government.
The National Children’s Hospital, which has already gobbled up circa 1.3bn and counting, is now supposed to be ready by October next year.
The trick is that the facility won’t actually be ready to take any patients until at least 6 months after that date, so it’ll likely be summer 2025 before the hospital is up and running, at an astronomical cost that far surpasses any other medical facility built in the world to date.
