A woman in the UK has been found guilty of murdering her two young daughters.
According to Sky News, 3-yr-old Lexi and 17-month-old Scarlett were killed by their mother Louise Porton. Scarlett died two weeks after Lexi and jurors at the hearing were told that there was no sign of how her daughters could have died from “natural causes”. They were also told that Porton allegedly accepted 41 friend requests on the day after Lexi’s death and was described by prosecutors as being “calm and emotionless” after Scarlett’s death two weeks later.
During the time that Lexi was in hospital before she died, it was alleged that Porton took topless pictures in the toilet and made contact with a man on the internet, promising to perform sex acts for money. A police search of Porton’s internet allegedly suggested that she researched various information regarding the death of young children by suffocation.
Porton denied having any involvement in the death of her daughters, saying that she had no idea how they had died. However, jurors did not agree and she was convicted. It is expected that she will receive a sentence later in the week.
