The mother of a missing child believed to be murdered, Kyran Durnin, has reported that she was assaulted and physically attacked in Ireland, reports The Mirror.

Reports indicate that she communicated to her friends, family, and the police in Britain that she had escaped from Ireland due to safety concerns and was apprehensive about being attacked again here. She expressed that her departure from the country was necessary for her personal protection.

It has been noted that the individual she accused of assaulting her is neither her partner nor Kyran’s father, reports The Mirror.

The schoolboy was reported missing by the Garda in August, but it is suspected that he may have been murdered as far back as two years ago.

Officials have not confirmed or denied whether a report was made to them regarding Dayla, Kyran’s mother, being attacked while in Ireland. Now 24, she resides in Ipswich, Suffolk, and has no intention of going back.

A source from the family revealed, “Dayla alleges she was physically assaulted previously and has left Ireland out of fear for her safety, reports The Mirror.

“She is frightened that a specific individual will attack her again and is not willing to elaborate further. She intends to remain in Ipswich and has no plans to return to her hometown of Drogheda,” reports The Mirror.

The ongoing Garda investigation into Kyran’s disappearance is active and in full swing. The Garda have received a significant amount of information from the public regarding the missing boy and are diligently pursuing every lead.

Detectives acknowledge that it may take months to resolve the case, but they are optimistic they will uncover the truth. All available resources are being utilized in the search for Kyran, reports The Mirror.

The child and family agency Tusla is collaborating with the Garda in their inquiries. They stated, “Tusla cannot provide details about specific cases, especially given that there is an active Garda investigation related to this delicate matter.

“Tusla has been working in close partnership with An Garda Siochana in accordance with our joint working agreement and legal responsibilities, and we will continue to coordinate with the Garda and other relevant parties as necessary during this time,” reports The Mirror.
