According to information provided to the Gardai, Kyran Durnin’s mother claims she has no idea what happened to her son, reports The Mirror.

It is believed that Dayla Durnin, who currently resides in East Anglia, has talked to English police.

At the Gardai’s request, police found Ms. Durnin and gave detectives their word that she was secure.

However, she has not provided the police with any information on the whereabouts of the missing eight-year-old, either publicly or informally, reports The Mirror.

Although the exact time of the child’s death is unknown, the Gardai are certain that he is dead. He was last seen alive at school in late May or early June of 2022, according to what they now know.

His longevity after then has not yet been determined, nor how, reports The Mirror.

A senior Garda source said: “This case is so complicated and could take at least six months if not longer to crack. The key people involved are not co-operating. We have received a large amount of information from the public and we are checking it bit by bit. We do not know how long Kyran lived after he left his school. The family were moving around different locations and we are trying to pinpoint their exact movements,” reports The Mirror.

“People are saying he went missing but nobody who was around him will tell us on what date and how exactly it happened. The child may have died as a result of an accident, we do not know but we can’t get any of these answers until we find the body,” the garda added, reports The Mirror.
