National Children’s Hospital costs continue to grow as figures show €1m has been spent on PR services

Spending at the new National Children’s Hospital has yet again been drawn into question after it was revealed that the HSE spent €1m on PR services.

The findings come as a report was given to the Public Accounts Committee on Thursday.

Amongst the findings it was revealed that the HSE spent a total of €11m on consultancy services in 2018.

The report which states that costs were within spending rules also found that a total of €1m was spent on PR fees within the last five years, with a total of €248,000 spent with the first six months of this year.

Although national paediatric hospital development board have defended the costs, many TD’s have questioned the need to spend so much money on PR services especially given the spiralling costs at the hospital.
