New arrival at Dublin Zoo, as a baby gorilla was born in recent days

There has been a new arrival at Dublin Zoo, as a baby Western Lowland gorilla was born on April 1.

Mother Kafi gave birth to her offspring after an eight and a half months long pregnancy. Staff haven’t been able to determine the gender, as Kafi has so far kept the baby close to her at all times.

Western Lowland gorillas are deemed as critically endangered worldwide, so every new specimen is precious.
