New facial recognition technology to be trialed at Dublin Airport

Facial recognition technology will be trialed at Dublin Airport next month.

If trials are deemed successful, facial recognition may be permanently adopted at the facility, which means passengers may experience little or no delays at the departure gate, as biometric information is linked to the boarding pass and bag tag.

Bristol Airport in the UK will test the technology at the same time.
