New figures published by the CSO reveals the unemployment rate has slightly fallen in the past month




According to new fugures published by the Central Statistics Office the number of people signing on the Live Register has once again fallen in the past month.

Although there was only decrease say the latest figures show that unemployment rate in the country is at its lowest since 2008.

Figures say the live register seen a decrease of 300 people in the month of September to leave the unemployment rate standing at 6.1% the same rate recorded in August.

The latest figure marks a 7.5% decrease on the same time as last year and has brought the seasonally adjusted total to 249,200. 

It is understood the creation of part time and temporary positions has led to the slight fall in figures.
