New figures just released reveal that 54 people have died on Irish roads so far in 2020.
The grim statistic includes 16 pedestrians killed in the period up to April 29. This is double the amount of pedestrians killed in the same period last year.
Gardai will be out in force over the coming Bank Holiday weekend to monitor the roads.
