A US tourist who was seriously injured in an alleged attack in Dublin city centre nearly three months ago has raised just $125 (€120) since setting up a second GoFundMe page after a dispute with his son over the money from an earlier fundraiser, reports Breaking News.

Stephen Termini, 57, of Buffalo, New York, was seriously injured after the alleged attack on Talbot Street in Dublin in July.

Three juveniles involved in the incident have been charged and are awaiting instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions in their case.

Due to his injuries, Mr. Termini was hospitalized for several weeks, and one of his sons – Michael (Mike) Rizzuto – set up a GoFundMe page for medical and travel expenses to enable Mr. Termini’s family to come to Ireland. with him during his convalescence.

Over €120,000 has been raised through the GoFundMe page.

However, a dispute has now erupted between Mr Termini and his son, with Mr Termini maintaining that he did not receive any of the transferred money. Mr Rizzuto said the donations were not for his father’s personal use, adding that taxes and fees must be covered.

Tim Cadogan, chief executive of GoFundMe, told The Irish Times he had been informed of the dispute between Termini and his son.

“Families are complicated,” he said. “This is true human nature so it happens, it’s not common, but it happens and you obviously take a step back and say listen we’ve done our job at this point and there’s not too much that we can do. I mean we’re not family therapists,” reports Breaking News.
