New legislation might see motorists face tougher penalties if offences are committed on Bank Holiday weekends, it has emerged today.
The proposals are based on the idea that holiday weekends tend to have a higher incidence of accidents and road deaths.
New speed limits on rural roads will also be implemented soon.
