From today, new parents will get two extra weeks of paid leave after the birth of the child, or the placement of an adopted child.
Parents will be able to enjoy the perk during the first year after the birth or the placement.
Those on leave will receive €245 per week from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
