Tara Street is the first location to have the red lights, which shine on the pavement, installed.
The aim is to encourage people, especially those absorbed in their phones or otherwise not fully aware, to notice traffic conditions, reports Breaking News.
These lights, already in use across other European cities, have earned the nickname ‘zombie’ traffic lights as they are intended to enhance safety for those not fully alert, reports Breaking News.
