New parents could be set to enjoy up to four weeks of additional parental leave from next year, under new Government proposals.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny announced plans to introduce an extra two weeks of parental leave, split between the two pareants.
Such plans, which would be approved next week, will be introduced in the next Budget.
Mr. Kenny said “Next week the Cabinet will approve the legislation the provide two weeks paid leave paternity for fathers and our aim is to have that in place by September.”
