New research suggests E-cigarettes are no safer than normal cigarettes as users are at greater risk of having a heart attack or stroke




A newly published study has found that those who smoke e-cigarettes will have increased risk of developing heart disease later in life.

According to research published by The American Heart Association, those who vape also face an increased chance of having a stroke or a heart attack.

The research found that vapers are 60% more likely to have a heart attack, whilst the chances of a person having stroke is at 71%.

Although the e-cigarette has been marketed to replace conventional cigarettes, researchers say they are more likely to be an addition to smoking rather than an alternative.

The survey which includesld the analysis of 400,000 people discovered that e-cigarettes can effect the lining of the blood vessels, preventing them from dilating and inhibiting the proper flow of blood, therefore it damages a users heart.

Statistics obtained from the study also showed that of 400,000 people surveyed, 67,000 of those who used vape cigarettes were 71% were at higher risk of having a stroke.

Meanwhile the same respondents were 59% more likely to have an angina or heart attack, whilst 40% were at higher risk of developing heart disease.
