Pope Francis had a rapturous welcome in New York’s famous Fifth Avenue last night.
The popular Pontiff had a traffic-less Fifth Avenue, something unheard of on any normal day of the year.
He said Vespers in the heart of Manhatton in St Patrick’s Cathedral.
The Pope spoke earlier to Congress in Washington. He spoke about the sanctity of marriage and how wrong abortion is to the most vulnerable in society. He also spoke about helping our fellow man and how homelessness must be overcome.
The Pope then had dinner with homeless people in Washington.
The popularity of the Pope gas gone through the roof since he touched down two days ago in Washington for a whirlwind visit to the US.
He will continue his visit by going to Ground Zero today and Philidephia tomorrow.
