New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said that the government are going to ban foreign speculators from buying existing homes but that there will be no ban on Australian people who wish to buy property there.
Ms Ardern claims that New Zealand has a serious housing crisis that has was left unresolved by the previous National administration.
According to RTE News, Ms Ardern said “We are determined to make it easier for Kiwis to buy their first home, so we are stopping foreign speculators buying houses and driving up prices,” she said.
“Kiwis should not be outbid like this.”
It’s been debated online but it’s something for Irish people to take into consideration before moving to the southern hemisphere country.
