Nightmare for Martin and Harris as new poll suggests nosedive for Fianna Fail and Fine Gael




Sinn Féin has emerged as the country’s most popular political party, according to a new Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks opinion poll.

This first survey following the Presidential Election shows Sinn Féin at 23%, marking a two-point increase, reports RTE.

The findings indicate that Fine Gael has fallen by two points to 19%, while Fianna Fáil has also declined by two points to 18%.

Support for the Social Democrats stands at 9%, an increase of one point, reports RTE.

Aontú remains unchanged at 6%.

Both Labour and Independent Ireland have risen by one point each, bringing both parties to 5%, reports RTE.

People Before Profit–Solidarity has maintained its support level at 3%.

The Green Party has seen a one-point gain, bringing its total to 2%, reports RTE.

Independent candidates now register 10% support, a drop of one point.

The most recent Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll was carried out on 31 October, reports RTE.

The survey sampled 1,609 respondents and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5%, reports RTE.
