
A woman in her 70s has died following a traffic incident in Ardee, Co Louth on Friday morning.
The crash, which occurred at around 11.25am, involved two cars and a truck on Bridge Street.
The incident occurred literally metres away from Ardee Church where Dylan Commins was being buried just two hours later.
The woman, who had been driving one of the cars, was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where she was later pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
No additional injuries have been reported at this stage, reports Breaking News.
The road has been closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to examine the scene.
Gardaà are appealing to any witnesses to come forward, reports Breaking News.
Road users who may have camera recordings (including dash-cam footage) and were travelling in the area between 11:00 and 11:30am are asked to make the material available to investigating officers.
